For this weeks Utah Theater Profile I had planned on doing an arthouse theater but things got in the way and I wasn’t able to take photos the way I wanted to. I will try to make that happen next week. So for now, we are going to talk about one of the mainstream movie theaters that is fairly new to my area- it is called the AMC West Jordan 12. This used to be a Carmike Theater but has been recently renovated by AMC and it is one of the best places to see a movie in close vicinity.
As you might expect from the name the AMC 12 has 12 screens and they are pretty good about featuring a mixture of mainstream and obscure films. They particularly focus on Indian films and it is where I saw Baahubali 2: the Conclusion which I loved. Like all AMC movie theater they also have the STUBS program which helps you get rewards fairly quickly. One cool thing is the rewards are just points which can be used for anything from concessions to free tickets. This is different than the random rewards you get at MegaPlex theaters.

One other perk to AMC West Jordan is how comfortable the seats are. More of the theaters are adding these recliner seats but these are some of the most comfy of all. Sometimes it is too comfortable and I get sleepy!
They also have improved the food options at AMC. You can get flatbreads, chicken and waffles, sliders etc as well as your traditional movie fare.
There is also an Indian restaurant right in front of it (probably why they have all the Indian films) called Flavors of India and I have eaten there once and enjoyed it!

YUM! Chicken and waffles at a theater? WOW. I too get sleepy at the theater. I don’t go as often as I used to. 😦
