Hey guys! Sometimes I feel bad about this blog because I have so many posts I think about writing and then life gets in the way and before I know it I’ve gone a month without posting. Sorry about that! I still love having this blog as an outlet to express my random and non-movie thoughts when I get the chance. Thanks for putting up with me and my irregular writing habits.
First I wanted to give a little shameless plug for new shirts I’ve added to my merch store. This blog was the start of my smiling persona and I have new smile and frown worthy shirts that I think are super cute. There’s a big sale right now so if you’ve enjoyed what I’ve done over the years take a look (and there are things besides shirts like phone cases and notebooks). It’s all at the teepublic store.
As for my life over the last month I’ve had a great time. The highlight was definitely having my friend Larry in town for FANX19. The con itself was a noticeable step down from previous iterations but I’m hoping that is just a momentary dip and not a permanent sign of things to come. The guests weren’t as good and the whole energy felt down. Nevertheless, it was fun to experience it with my friend and Warwick Davis and Zachary Levi panels were definite highlights. Larry and I also had a chance to film tons of content, which was really fun, and we celebrated Easter together.
I also have enjoyed attending screenings with friends over the last month. In particular it was a joy to see Avengers: Endgame with my friend Jen (as well as several other films like Long Shot and POMS).
I also got to see Detective Pikachu and The Sun is Also a Star with my friend Emilee. We don’t have the best of luck with movies but I really love her and am grateful for her friendship.
Another fun experience is I spent a week at my parents house spending time with my Mom. She doesn’t like being in that big empty house by herself and I can’t say I blame her. We had a lot of good chats and even tried out the much hyped Freshies Lobster Company in Salt Lake. Yum!
It was interesting how quickly I adapted to staying at my parents. After just a few days I felt quite at home and had developed a new little routine. I used to think that would be the worst living with them and not being all independent but now I don’t think it would be so bad if it was required.
Aside from that my podcasts have filled up the rest of my time. I am immensely proud of both of them and especially love the friendships I’ve made along the way. Whether it is talking movies with my friend David Healy, dishing on Disney movies with Stanford, or recapping the latest slate of Hallmark films I’m so blessed to interact with such great people. It blows my mind that I have created things that people not only enjoy but feel excited to give of their time to and participate in.
So there you have it! That’s the last month for my life. What about you? What are some of your highlights? Would love to hear in the comments. Sure love ya!
Oh and I also passed the 10 year mark on twitter and had my 1,000 post on my movie blog so that was fun!
