Hey guys! Quick post today. I hope you are all doing well and getting ready for a fun weekend. I don’t have a ton planned but I haven’t been feeling super well so I may just rest up and work on content for next week.
Speaking of content it’s Friday so that means it’s time to participate in the Friday 5. This is a weekly series of youtubers/bloggers who get a topic and have to pick 5 songs that within that topic. This week was wild card so we could pick whatever we want. I decided to have a little fun and dive into my favorite songs from the 1980s.
To me when I think 80s music I think of big arena type sound- you could call them epic songs! I think all 5 of my picks capture that spirit. Let me know what your favorite songs from the 80s are and what you think of my picks.
Also if you have a blog or channel you should participate in the Friday 5. It’s really fun! Take a look at the tumblr page to see upcoming topics and then join in! http://thefridayfivemusic.tumblr.com/
Have a great Friday guys!
I’ve been reading Twilight out of morbid curiosity and it had a passage I thought was funny:
“”You like fifties music?’ I asked.
‘Music in the fifties was good. Much better than the sixties, or the seventies, ugh!’ He shuddered. ‘The eighties were bearable.'”
I have a feeling the Beatles and the Rolling Stones would not care for that book.
Ha. I hope you have some fun with it. I thought it was kind of enjoyable as a romance novel but the sequels especially 3 and 4 I did not like. I thought in the first Meyer developed romantic tension well. I didnt like any of the movies.
That’s a funny quote. What do you think of my 5 picks? I enjoy an arena song but I know some dont
The book is disappointing because it’s mostly just dull. The writing is fairly bland except when it’s enlivened by some bizarre descriptions and inexplicable fixation on a person’s voice as “velvet”.
I don’t think Meyer developed romantic tension well. They basically act like they hate each other while he stalks her for the first third of the book, then she writes the quote “I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.” and that ends any tension and we’re just supposed to automatically buy that it’s true.
I also find it very disturbing that Edward broke into Bella’s house and went through her dirty laundry to get the keys to her truck, and Bella just shrugs this off and it’s never mentioned again.
Still, I keep going to Meijer and reading a chapter of it whenever I’m bored, just to give me something to do.
Fair enough. I havent read it in a long time but I did like the romantic tension and the book when I read it. I thought like a dopey romance novel it worked but it’s been a while.
Your choices aren’t that bad. When I was a child I hated the “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” song but that was just due to stupid reasoning that it was somehow mean-spirited due to its aggression, so forget it.
As for my choices, I think the song “Souls” by Rick Springfield is underrated, “Kiss On My List” is the best hit of 1980, The Breakfast Club theme “Don’t You Forget About Me” deserves a spot on the list, and the other 2 should go to Bryan Adams tracks.
I dont know Souls and Kiss on My List but will look them up. I’m glad you dont think my picks are that bad. Ha. I’ll take it. 🙂
Be sure to tell me what you think of them when you’re done listening.
Cool. I will
