No Sleep but Doing My Best

fibromyalgia-and-insomniaHey guys! I just wanted to give you a little update.  I realized it has been a few days since I have updated this blog.  Hopefully you are all following my Disney blog as it hits the homestretch with the last 10 films in the Disney canon coming soon.

So the rest of my life hasn’t been very exciting.  I’ve felt kind of stagnant with my knee progress and am starting physical therapy next Tuesday, so that should be good.  (Insurance costing me an arm and a leg has paid almost nothing…).

Hopefully I can clear some hurdles with the PT and be back swimming and boxing like I normally like to do.

My sleep has been a huge issue lately.  I’ve been getting around 4 hours a night which means I am tired all day but then can’t sleep at night.  It’s all very frustrating.

But I’m so grateful to my job that I can work at any hour and how supportive they have been through this process and all the support I’ve received.

I’ve also been grateful for the Disney blog.  At a time when I could have gotten depressed from the pain and inactivity I have found a project to sink my teeth into.  I decided to do the project right around when Deer Creek open water swim race was going on and it filled a void and helped me set a goal to focus on beside the pain.

But I haven’t only been watching movies. I’m learning about the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene.  It is basically a Machiavellian take on 2014 relationships particularly in the workforce and it is fascinating. Highly recommend giving it a read and would love to chat about it with any of you if you have read it.

That’s about it.  Looking forward to conference this weekend and tweeting during it, so if you are on twitter and Mormon make sure to follow me @smilingldsgirl

My sister is in Japan and always doing these amazing things.  She asks me about my life and I say ‘well I’m watching Brother Bear tonight…’.  Oh well!  Time and season for everything.

If you guys have any blog ideas I’d love to hear them.  I’d like to keep the movie blog up after the 54 reviews and was thinking of other series I could do but would love your suggestions .

Same for this blog if there are topics you would like me to cover email me at smilingldsgirl@yahoo.com .

Thanks again!

  1. Don’t worry! You can get through this! It sucks at first, but after you see the progress with your knee in PT, you’ll start to lift up, I hope.(I’ve torn my ACL and meniscus in both my knees, so knee problems come and go for me.) If you have any questions or just need someone to cheer you up, I’m here for you, too! BTW, I really love your 54 Disney reviews blog!

    1. Thank you! That really did cheer me up. And thanks for reading my reviews. That means a lot!

I can’t imagine ACL and meniscus in both knees. Holy cow. I just fee like I was progressing and then for about 3 weeks I’ve stayed the same. I appreciate your encouragement on the PT. I’m a little nervous so that’s good to hear.

Seriously your comment made my day. I will keep in touch.

      1. With PT, it’s just like exercise–you’ll hit a plateau around 4 to 5 weeks. You or your therapist have to change something to progress. I’m not just saying this as being a patient, but I also have a degree in Physical Therapy. 🙂 So what you need to do is keep track of what you’re doing in PT (they also have notes, so you can ask to see it) and ask if you can do an exercise or two at home as well. I know you’re a little nervous, but don’t worry. The reason why you’re paying an arm and a leg for it is because they’re specialists.

I’m glad to make your day! I hope that you get some more sleep (no more dozing sheep) and you can find an adventure–whether it’s in your head, on your blog, or somewhere in your world.

        1. Thank you so much for that guidance. I will definitely do as you suggest and will keep you posted.
